leadership that truly understands the strength and richness that diversity, inclusion, and compassion can bring to our community. That is the commitment Lisa has already shown as a community leader and the experience I believe she would continue to bring as a councilwoman.
Lisa E. Sánchez has my vote! So, when you have the opportunity to help a friend, you just do it and you’re happy to help. When someone gives you an opportunity to be part of something important or special, you still do it, only this time you’re not just happy, you’re honored.
I can honestly say I’m happy and honored to give my support to Lisa E. Sánchez’s campaign for Boise City Council. I do not know how Lisa and I first met, perhaps it was a friendship born while working on a bicycle. Over the years our friendship has grown and so has my admiration for Lisa as a leader in the community. That time-tested leadership was why I was excited when she announced her candidacy and why I am excited to offer my support.
I love my city, I love my state, and I love the country I call home. I consider myself a patriot, and that is why I have engaged in the community work I do for a living and as a volunteer. My time with Lisa makes me believe the same is true for her. That said, my city, my state, and my country are far from perfect, and I believe we are ready for leadership that truly understands the strength and richness that diversity, inclusion, and compassion can bring to our community. That is the commitment Lisa has already shown as a community leader and the experience I believe she would continue to bring as a councilwoman. That is one of the many reasons she gets my vote.
I could write pages about the other reasons: her commitment to creating opportunities for marginalized communities, her support for Boise’s Housing First initiatives, her understanding of transportation barriers and our need for better public transportation and infrstructure for biking and walking, her appreciation for the importance of art, culture, and public space.
The list could go on and on, but I want to end it with the one that means the most to me. Lisa Sánchez has a voice—a voice that represents an often unheard and important perspective in our community. And Lisa is not afraid to use that voice. I’m voting for Lisa because I know she will use that voice for all of us.
